Uganda to attend 3x3 FISU World University League in China

KAMPALA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Ndejje University's men's team will represent Uganda at the 3x3 FISU World University League that takes place in Xiamen, China, from Nov. 15-18.

"Since we are the African champions, we are going to China to prove a point that we can compete at the top. We go to China aiming for the overall title," Samuel Ajak, Ndejje University's captain told Xinhua on Monday.

Team coach Walker Obedi told Xinhua that although they are aware several top Universities from Europe and Asia will take part, his team has prepared well to prove a point.

"We are not a weak team by any measures and we are going all out to learn and also show that we are a strong team," added the coach.

Ndejje University qualified after coming out top at the 2018 African University Games held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

In China, Ndejje University has been drawned in Group B alongside Faculty of Technology of Alagoas (Brazil), University of Auckland (New Zealand) and Payame Noor University (Iran).

The tournament organized by the Federation of International Basketball Association has attracted 15 men's and 15 women's teams.
