WINDHOEK, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Namibian Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry on Thursday announced latest tariff rate quotas for selected products to be imported from the European Union under the Southern African Development Community and Economic Partnership Agreement.
According to a statement released by the Namibian government, the tariff rate quotas will allow limited quantities per product to be imported from EU into Namibia duty-free.
"The tariff rate quotas are only eligible to Namibian registered companies. Interested companies should apply in writing and indicate the specific products and quantities required for importation." the Ministry of Agriculture said in the statement.
Some of the commodities and quantities that Namibian companies will be able to import from Europe include pork (140 tons), pig fat (24 tons), butter (80 tons), cheese (1,014 tons), wheat (27,180 tons), barley (1,000 tons), cereal-based food products (86 tons) and ice cream (18 tons).
