ANKARA, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Turkish prosecutors on Monday issued arrest warrants for 32 former civil servants for their links with Gulen movement, an organization accused by Ankara of orchestrating a failed 2016 coup attempt.

The 32 former civil servants, who had worked at Health Ministry, was wanted for using ByLock, an encrypted smartphone messaging app allegedly used by Gulen followers.

According to state-run Anadolu Agency, police have detained 18 of the suspects in simultaneous operations across Turkey. They will be taken to the Ankara police headquarters.

Turkey accuses extradite preacher Fethullah Gulen, who has lived in the United States since 1999, of masterminding the coup attempt in July 2016 that left 250 people dead.
