TOKYO, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Wednesday as a weak lead from Wall Street overnight and a slide in crude oil futures dented market sentiment.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 75.58 points, or 0.35 percent, from Tuesday to close the day at 21,507.54.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 9.78 points, or 0.60 percent, to finish at 1,615.89.
Mining, securities brokerage and wholesale-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
