JAKARTA, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Lion Air will meet with Boeing management next week in the United States to review its orders of 737 Max series aircraft until 2035, director of the airlines said here on Thursday.
Director of safety and security of Lion Air Daniel Putut revealed that the airlines had announced orders of 50 Boeing 737 Max 10 planes in April of last year with a total price of 6.24 billion U.S. dollars.
"We will meet Boeing. We must ensure the type of the problem. We will discuss it with the management of Boeing," he said at the parliament building.
Information gleaned from the flight data recorder indicated that the brand new Boeing 737 Max 8 plane with flight number JT 610 suffered from glitch on angle of attack (AOA) that culminated on malfunction of speed indicator during its fatal flight on Oct. 29, killing all 189 people onboard as it went down in waters off western Indonesia.
