KHARTOUM, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Thursday urged Arab countries to take joint action to establish an Arab judicial system based on principles of justice and rule of law.

Al-Bashir made the remarks while addressing the 34th session of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers, which kicked off in Khartoum Thursday.

"Your council today is demanded, more than any time before, to take joint Arab action in the judicial and legal fields and explore an Arab judicial future based on principles of justice and the rule of law," said Bashir.

"The challenges facing our Arab region, including cross-border crimes, human trafficking, cyber crimes, and arms and drug dealing, require us to work together to adjust the Arab judicial system," he added.

The Council of Arab Justice Ministers discusses a number of issues, including the Arab counterterrorism agreement, unification of Arab legislation, the Arab agreement for refugees, the Arab anti-corruption agreement and others. Enditem
