TUNIS, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed announced Saturday the start of a major campaign to encourage Tunisians to buy local products.
At the plenary session of the Tunisian parliament, Chahed called for the need to consume Tunisian products to reduce imports and deficit, in order to improve the currency dinar's exchange rate and the purchasing power of the citizens.
For the year 2019, Tunisia hopes to achieve an economic growth of 3.1 percent from 2.6 percent expected in 2018.
The government also hopes to reduce the current account deficit to 8.9 percent in 2019 from 9.9 percent in 2018.
