BANGKOK, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Election Commission (EC) on Monday started accepting applications for senatorial posts from members of the public.
The EC office said those interested can deliver their applications at its headquarters office in Bangkok and EC's 800 representative offices nationwide.
The application will be opened until Nov. 30.
However, an EC official advised applicants to quickly hand in their documents to ensure accuracy in the application process.
The official said applicants can apply as individuals or representatives of one of the ten occupation groups and must meet the required qualifications.
The EC will be responsible for overseeing the selection of the candidates in three levels -- the district level, provincial level and national level, with the candidates voting among themselves at each level until the list of the candidates is reduced to 200 at national level.
