U.S. grants Tunisia 350 mln USD for development, investment

TUNIS, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. government institution Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) approved a grant of 350 million U.S. dollars to Tunisian government for development projects.

"This grant reflects the interest of the United States in promoting investment in Tunisia," said Zied Ladhari, Tunisian Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation on Monday.

The grant will be devoted to developing the logistic system and the digitization of services offered to the investors in various fields, in addition to the improvement of infrastructures, the control of hydraulic resources and the fight against the water scarcity, said the MCC vice-president Kyeh Kim in a statement.

"Tunisian government is committed to boosting economic reforms and improving the business climate, to guarantee its success," Ladhari concluded.
