WASHINGTON, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins is targeting a return from his torn Achilles sometime after Christmas, local media reported on Monday.

Cousins has been sidelined since he tore his Achilles in January with the New Orleans Pelicans last season. He signed a one-year deal with the Warriors this summer.

Cousins, a four-time All-Star, averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 48 games for the Pelicans last season.

The Warriors, who have struggled with injuries to Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, will start a five-game road trip this week.
