KIGALI, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- A Rwandan journalist working for the BBC has been arrested over terror charges, Rwanda Investigation Bureau said Wednesday.
Phocas Ndayizera was arrested last Wednesday in Nyamirambo sector, a suburb of Rwandan capital city, where he had gone to receive "explosives," spokesman of the Investigation Bureau Modeste Mbabazi told a media briefing in Kigali, adding that the journalist is being investigated on terror crimes.
The journalist was arrested along with another person who had delivered the explosives to him, Mbabazi said.
The journalist working for for BBC Kinyarwanda service denied the allegations while talking to media, adding that he is yet to know the charges against him.
Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Agency in 2014 suspended the broadcasts of BBC Radio programs in national Kinyarwanda language "forever" in the country over allegations of genocide denial and revisionism in its controversial documentary entitled "Rwanda: The untold story."
