BUDAPEST, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The living standard of Hungarians continued to increase in 2017, according to a latest report of the Central Statistic Office (KSH) published here on Friday.

"The income situation of Hungarian households continued to improve in 2017, and their consumption expenditures also increased," the report said.

"Last year, gross annual income per capita was 1.644 million forints (5,776 U.S. dollars), 9.3 percent higher than the previous year, and net income was 1.3 million forints (4,567 U.S. dollars), an increase of 8.4 percent compared to the year ago," the report said.

Real income grew by 5.9 percent compared to 2016, according to KSH.

The structure of income was favorable, according to the report, meaning that the highest part of income was coming from salaries.

On the other hand, income inequalities grew slightly, putting Hungary among the moderately uneven countries within Europe.

The risk of poverty or social exclusion affected 1.887 million people, or 19.6 percent of the total population, according to the publication.
