ADDIS ABABA, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Office of Ethiopia Federal Attorney General (OEFAG) said on Saturday two high-ranking intelligence officers have been arrested over allegations of human rights abuses.

In a press statement, OEFAG said two senior operatives in the Ethiopia National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) were arrested over allegations that they participated in severe human rights abuses.

The report didn't specify the exact positions of the arrested NISS operatives nor the details of the human rights abuses they had been accused of.

In November, Ethiopia arrested more than 60 senior military and intelligence figures over allegations of human rights abuses and corruption.

Among those arrested are former ex-deputy spy chief, Yared Zerihun and the ex-chief of the military-linked business conglomerate Metal Engineering Corporation (MeTEC), Kinfe Dagnew.
