Tokyo stocks gain in morning

TOKYO, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks gained Wednesday morning.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 398.41 points, or 1.88 percent, from Tuesday to 21,546.43.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 30.88 points, or 1.96 percent, to 1,606.19.

Precision instrument, securities, and electric appliances-linked issues led notable gainers by the morning break.
