NEW YORK, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- A New York-based nonprofit educational organization announced on Friday the sixth round of its Public Intellectuals Program (PIP) to look for China experts in the United States, aiming to nurture more people specialized in policymaking of the two countries and bilateral relations.

The National Committee on United States-China Relations said the PIP was designed to enrich such academics' understanding of policymaking in both nations, and raise their ability to engage with the public at national, regional and local levels.

The two-year program, from March 2019 through December 2020, will be carried out through a series of activities, including seminars in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, a study tour of China, public education initiatives and the opportunity to participate in National Committee delegations as scholar escorts.

Senior policymakers and professionals of the two countries will also be invited to communicate with fellows in the program on fields they would not typically be exposed to, such as business, arts, health, and civil society in China, as well as to the media in both countries.

Interested fellows can apply for the program on the committee's official website. Semi-finalists will be contacted by mid-February for telephone interviews. Notifications will be made before March 4.
