NEW DELHI, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump exchanged New Year greetings over telephone, an official statement issued by India's external affairs ministry said Tuesday.

During their telephonic conversation on Monday evening, both leaders expressed satisfaction at the progress in India-U.S. strategic partnership over the last year.
