Macedonian economy growth to rise to 2.9 pct in 2019: WB report

SKOPJE, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- The World Bank's (WB) latest report on Global Economic Prospect sets the Macedonian economy growth to rise to 2.9 percent in 2019, compared to 2.5 percent in 2018, the Macedonian Information Agency reported on Wednesday.

According to the report of the World Bank, Macedonia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will increase by 3.2 percent in 2020 and 3.3 percent in 2021.

Macedonia's growth by 2.5 percent in 2018 rebounded as formation of the new government ended a prolonged political crisis and improved investor sentiment.

Meanwhile, in regional terms, according to the WB report, the biggest economy's growth in 2019 is set to register in Kosovo with 4.5 percent rise, Serbia with 3.5 percent, followed by Albania with 3.6 percent.
