JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Up to 15 Taliban militants have been killed and several others injured in Lalpur district of the eastern Nangarhar province over the past 24 hours, as government forces cleanup operations continue in the area, provincial government said in a statement released here Saturday.
According to the statement, the government forces have also recaptured several villages since Friday and so far no civilians have been hurt.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of the eastern Nangarhar province with Jalalabad as its capital 120 km east of Kabul are yet to make comment on the report.
