SINGAPORE, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.68 percent, or 21.6 points, to close at 3,171.11.
A total of 1.27 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of one billion Singapore dollars (about 735.80 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 213 to 150.
The STI index went down 0.86 percent or 27.85 points to close at 3,192.71 on Tuesday.
