ASSADABAD, Afghanistan, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Four militants affiliated with the Islamic State group were killed in their own bomb blast in the eastern Kunar province on Sunday, an army statement released here said Monday.
The four insurgents, according to the statement, were carrying a mine to plant on a road in Peachdara area to target security forces convoys, but the device exploded prematurely, killing all the four on the spot.
The IS outfit which is largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings has yet to comment.
