BISHKEK, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan registered 11 border incidents in 2018, the press service of the State Border Service reported on Monday.

Seven of the incidents occurred on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, and four on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section, the report said, adding that the situation on the state border in 2018 remained stable.

In the past five years, the number of incidents at the state border has been reduced in a steady tendency, the report said.

In addition, about 550 people were detained for violating the state border regulations.

The border guards also detained contraband worth more than 500,000 U.S. dollars and seized more than 1 ton of narcotic substances, said the report.
