KIEV, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Martin Sajdik, special representative of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in the Contact Group on Ukraine crisis, unveiled a new peace plan for resolving the conflict in Donbas, the Ukrainian government-run news agency Ukrinform said on Monday.
Sajdik said that the OSCE-developed concept envisages sending to the conflict-hit region a joint mission from the OSCE and the United Nations, which would incorporate military and police components as well as international administration.
Besides, the new peace plan stipulates for the creation of an agency of Donbas post-conflict recovery, which is ruled by the European Union, Sajdik said.
According to him, the plan, which should be approved by the Normandy Four countries, namely Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France, is set to replace the Minsk agreements.
The Minsk agreements, reached in September 2014 and February 2015 respectively, are designed to peacefully end the conflict in eastern Ukraine that has killed more than 10,000 people since April 2014. They envisage a ceasefire, a withdrawal of heavy weaponry from the contact line, a prisoner exchange and local elections, among other measures.
