KAMPALA, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan winger Martin Kizza has joined South African Premier League side Free State Stars on a one-year deal on Tuesday, becoming the fourth Ugandan player to join a South Africa Premier League team.

"I am happy that finally get a chance to play professional football in one of the most competitive Leagues in Africa," Kizza told Xinhua.

Under South African-based agent Ivica Stankovic, the Ugandan player underwent trials last October with top Croatian side Nogometni klub Osijek, but did not earn a contract.

Free State Stars FC also confirmed that they have signed experienced striker Michelle Katsvairo.

Kizza has previously played for Ugandan Premier League giants KCCA FC and finished with 10 goals in the League for SC Villa last season. He was also part of Uganda's national team.
