MINSK, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Belarus on Tuesday started a comprehensive check of its armed forces to examine the combat and mobilization readiness of formations and military units, the country's defense ministry said.
The check includes inspection of the military control bodies of operational and tactical levels, mechanized and tank units, units of special operations forces, combat arms, and technical and logistic support, according to the ministry.
About 1,400 people from the reserve will be mobilized and 20 units of equipment will be provided by state bodies and organizations, the ministry said.
In order to create a near-real situation, the actions of an imaginary enemy will be simulated by units of special operations forces.
The check will be completed by staff training and exercises at various levels with live firing, the ministry said.
