WINDHOEK, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's mining sector is set to rebound in 2019 as the Chinese operated Husab uranium mine is expected to ramp up to full capacity, a research firm said in its outlook.

The increase in production at the mine would make Namibia the world's third-largest uranium producer within the next five years, Fitch Solutions Macro Research said in its outlook on Wednesday.

"Stronger mining sector production will offer tailwinds to credit expansion, and this will help to boost consumer confidence and alleviate pressure on the retail sector," the firm said.

The research firm is of the view that this rebound in the mining sector will underpin the modest expansion of credit, and further bolster consumer confidence in the south west African country.
