ADDIS ABABA, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Unidentified gunmen killed four people in an attack on a passing freight truck in southern Ethiopia, state media outlet Ethiopia Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) reported on Wednesday.
The attack happened on Tuesday afternoon, when the gunmen ambushed a freight truck travelling on the road from Konso zone to Soyama Burji district in Southern regional state, leaving four people on board dead, reported EBC.
Police is yet to determine a motive for the ambush.
However, a resident of the affected area who spoke to Xinhua recently, alleged gunmen affiliated to a rebel group Oromo Liberation Front based in neighboring Oromia regional state, occasionally conduct deadly ambushes on civilians and security forces alike.
