WARSAW, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- The Polish economy grew by 5.1 percent in 2018, the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Thursday.
According to the report of preliminary estimates issued by GUS, Poland's gross domestic product(GDP) increased by 5.1 percent in 2018, compared to 4.8 percent growth in 2017.
The country's domestic demand grew by 5.3 percent and investments increased by 7.3 percent last year.
Total consumption in 2018 increased by 4.3 percent year on year, of which consumption in the household sector increased by 4.5 percent.
Earlier this month, the Polish Senate approved the country's budget for 2019, which expects the economy to grow 3.8 percent, with inflation targeted at 2.3 percent.
