NEW YORK, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese fashion designer Wang Tao on Saturday presented her Fall/Winter 2019 collection at the ongoing New York Fashion Week, expressing her idea of eternal beauty with the usual power tailoring,

The collection is inspired by two women who are in different generation groups and dress in distinct styles, Wang said on the sidelines of her namesake brand Taoray Wang's runway show.

While American model Lauren Hutton symbolizes handsome and unconventional beauty in 1970s, U.S. President Donald Trump's younger daughter Tiffany is representative of millennials' favorite feminine and sexy look, she said.

"True beauty is timeless," said Wang.

To combine the two different styles in one collection, Wang introduces wool hats and wide-leg pants that were popular in 1970s, and asymmetric mini skirts loved by younger generation into the looks.

Wang, known for her flair in using basic colors such as grey, white and black to create elegant and confident looks for career women, added different shades of yellow and blue to create more warm, bright and energetic looks.

Trump, wearing a velvet dress in night blue and purple tones combined with black from the newest collection, said Wang's designs are always evolving and that the designer is able to add something special each time she comes to New York Fashion Week.

Amy Zhang, partner and portfolio manager of Fred Alger Management, said "feminine and strong" is Taoray Wang's signature style and that every piece could be worn to the office.

Zhang, a long-time client of Wang, was wearing a black Taoray Wang dress with pink waist detail from last season. She said the combination of black and pink and the use of the belt made her look both elegant and powerful.

Wang, a graduate of East China Normal University in Shanghai, has grown from an aspiring designer to one of Asia's most successful female entrepreneurs. Since her brand made its debut in the fall of 2014, she has become a regular at the New York Fashion Week.

Held in February and September, the semi-annual event is one of the four major fashion weeks in the world, collectively known as the "Big Four," along with the Paris, London and Milan fashion weeks.
