Singapore stocks close 0.19 pct lower

​SINGAPORE, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.19 percent, or 6.17 points, to close at 3,259.8.

A total of 1.12 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 775.94 million Singapore dollars (about 571.91 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 218 to 172.

The STI index went up 0.81 percent, or 26.23 points, to close at 3,265.97 on Monday.
