Uganda's defender Muleme joins Czech Republic's FK Viktoria Zizkov

KAMPALA, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's left sided defender Issac ulema has joined Czech Republic second division side FK Viktoria Zikov football club.

"I am happy that finally I get the chance to play professional football in a competitive football country like the Czech Republic," ulema told Xinhua on Wednesday.

ulema, who was part of Uganda's national team that qualified for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, signed a two-year contract.

The defender, who has previously played for Uganda sides Victoria University, SC Villa and KCCA FC, transferred from Egyptian Premier League side Haras El Hadoud. ulema joined Egyptian side Al Assiouty SC early last year before switching to Haras El Hadoud.

Mathias Lule, assistant coach of Uganda's national team said Muleme's signing is a good news because he will be playing more football than before.

"This is also very good for us as our players prepare and get fit ahead of the 2019 AFCON," added Lule.
