ADDIS ABABA, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations - African Union (AU) Joint Task Force on Peace and Security has expressed its concern regarding the deteriorating security situation in the central Mali.

An AU statement said the Joint Task Force has urged the government to augment its efforts in addressing the increasingly complex situation, with the support of partners.

The two organizations also called upon all stakeholders to sustain their commitment and accelerate the implementation of the measures under the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) agreement.

The joint task force further emphasized the need for all international partners to continue to support the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), which is the UN's peacekeeping mission in the West African country.
