ULAN BATOR, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Orkhon Purevdorj, a member of the Mongolian national women's freestyle wrestling team, has been given a four-year ban after she tested positive for a banned substance, local media reported on Thursday, citing United World Wrestling (UWW).

The UWW made the decision after Orkhon tested positive for anabolic steroid Stanazolol during the Asian Games in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang from August 18 to September 2, according to Mongolia's state-run MONTSAME news agency. The athlete was stripped of the gold medal she claimed in the women's 62kg event at the games.

The 25-year-old clinched the gold medal in the 63kg class at 2017 World Wrestling Championships in Paris, France.

Stanozolol is an androgen and anabolic steroid medication and is prohibited in and out of competition.
