Fourteen houses in northern Thailand damaged from tremors

BANGKOK, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Earthquake Watch Division of Thailand's Meteorological Department on Thursday released that a total of 26 minor earthquakes hit the northern province of Lampang on Wednesday and Thursday, leaving at least 14 residences damaged.

Thai authorities confirmed no injuries have been reported.

The first tremor, of 2.1 magnitude, struck Lampang province with its epicenter in Wang Nua district at around 12:01, followed by 20 tremors on Wednesday with the severest one, of 4.9 magnitude, hit at about 16:05 local time.

Five more tremors at the same area were detected on Thursday, with the severest one of 2.6 magnitude hit at around 06:07.

Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation under Ministry of Interior released on its website that at least 14 houses, one pagoda and a Buddhist temple were damaged in the serious of tremors.
