MOSCOW, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Russia is willing to discuss the possible deliveries of the newest Su-57 fighters to India, an official of Russian state-owned hi-tech conglomerate Rostec said Monday.

"We are ready to continue sales of generation 4+ and 4++ jets to India and work on the deliveries of the fifth-generation aircraft," Viktor Kladov, Rostec's director for international cooperation and regional policy, was quoted by TASS news agency as saying.

According to him, India has shown interest in purchasing Russia's Su-57, but New Delhi first needs to decide its strategy for air force development.

India should figure out how much the Su-57 will fit into its strategy before determining to buy the new plane or increase the production of Su-30MKI in India under a Russian license, Kladov said.

The fifth-generation stealth Su-57, formerly known as T-50, is a single-seat twin-engine jet featuring super maneuverability and supersonic flight capability.
