BERLIN, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- German manufacturers' expectations in export growth has increased slightly in February, the Ifo Institute for Economic Research reported on Monday.

The outlook value rose to 7.2 balance points in February from 6.0 balance points in January, the Munich-based think tank said.

At the moment, the tariff threats of the U.S. administration are still having no negative impact on the export expectations for the automotive industry. But they are clearly reserved in their assessments of the current situation.

In addition, the food and beverage industry is expecting significant growth, while the export momentum in the mechanical engineering sector has leveled off considerably in recent months, according to the report.

"German manufacturing is holding its own in a difficult global economic environment," Ifo President Clemens Fuest noted in the report.

The Ifo Export Expectations are based on around 2,700 monthly reports from manufacturers, who are asked to report their export expectations for the next three months.
