Greek FM, UN mediator discuss Cyprus issue

Greek Foreign Minister George Katrougalos (R) meets with Jane Holl Lute, the United Nations' special envoy for Cyprus, in Athens, Greece, on Feb. 26, 2019. No statements were made to the press. Citing diplomatic sources, the Greek national news agency AMNA reported that Katrougalos stressed "Greece's firm position for the solution of the Cyprus issue on the basis of UN resolutions for the reunification of the island, an ending of the unacceptable regime of guarantees and the withdrawal of Turkish occupation troops."
