KHARTOUM, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The joint Sudanese-Saudi naval drills, dubbed "Al-Fulk 3," concluded Thursday in eastern Sudan, Sudan's Ashorooq net reported.
Sudan's Deputy Chief of Naval Staff Magdi Sayed Omer and representative of the Saudi Chief of Naval Staff Yahya bin Ali Al-Naimi attended the concluding ceremony of the joint drills, the report said.
The drills began on Sunday at Port-Sudan naval base in the Red Sea State with the participation of marine forces and maritime security units.
The joint exercise aimed to enhance joint action, upgrade combat capabilities, achieve maritime security, secure maritime transport routes, counter smuggling, piracy, human trafficking and deter potential threat.
