(TWO SESSIONS)CHINA-TWO SESSIONS-TARGETS-SIGNIFICANCE (CN)

People get their parcels at a make-shift collecting station at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) in Nanjing, east China's Jiangsu Province, Nov. 13, 2018. The number of parcels surged across China after the e-commerce giant Tmall launched the annual online shopping promotion on Nov. 11. China's annual sessions of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) and the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee have opened in Beijing. Held at a critical moment in the nation's development, it is particularly important for this year's "two sessions" to build consensus and pool wisdom of the whole nation. Observers will be watching for the government's policy priorities at the two sessions. A new growth target will be unveiled. Further moves will also come to light such as supply-side reforms, support of private enterprise, rural revitalization, and further opening-up of the economy. With confidence, China is sprinting toward a moderately well-off society, and more encouraging changes are in sight. (Xinhua/Li Bo)
