BANGKOK, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Plans earlier laid for Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to take part in the Palang Pracharath (power of people's state) Party's electoral campaign have been scrapped, a source of the party said on Wednesday.

Prayut told reporters at the Government House on Wednesday that he will not deliver a speech at a public venue in Nakhon Ratchasima province on the upcoming Sunday as earlier planned for him by the Palang Pracharath Party.

The Palang Pracharath Party, which has named Prayut as its sole candidate for prime minister in the March 24 election, has changed mind and canceled the planned schedules for him to show up and launch speeches at any venues in all regions of the country, said the party's source, who declined to be named.

Prayut will not show up during this week's campaign for Palang Pracharath candidates running for MP of Bangkok either, the source said.
