BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Brunei and South Korea are looking to further explore their collaboration in the sectors of oil and gas and renewable energy.

A joint statement released here on Monday in conjunction with South Korean President Moon Jae-in's visit to Brunei said the two countries are eyeing opportunities to cooperate in both the upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors.

They are also looking to re-establish cooperation in additional areas such as liquefied natural gas value chain, said the statement.

Moon is currently in Brunei on a state visit from March 10 to 12.

During Moon's meeting with Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at Istana Nurul Iman, both leaders also said they looked forward to joint capacity building activities in renewable energy.
