BERLIN, March 15 (Xinhua) -- After almost 100 days as new leader of Democratic Christian Union (CDU), only 30 percent of Germans consider Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, often called AKK, suitable as next chancellor while 51 percent surveyed find her unfit, according to the poll ZDF-Politbarometer published on Friday.
In the rating of Germany's most popular politicians, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer fell from 1.4 points in February to 0.7 and thus dropped out of the top group of Germany's most popular politicians, according to the Politbarometer.
Germany's former finance minister and president of the parliament Wolfgang Schaeuble remained the most popular politician in Germany with an unchanged average value of 1.5, followed by Chancellor Angela Merkel with 1.4 and green party leader Robert Habeck with 1.2.
A clear majority of 71 percent of Germans believes that the current government of the conservative union (CDU/CSU) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) will hold until the next Bundestag election in 2021.
Until then, almost three quarters of Germans would like to see Merkel remain chancellor, according to the Politbarometer.
Interest in the next European election has increased significantly among German voters. According to the poll, 44 percent of Germans responded that they were very interested in the election, up from only 22 percent five years ago.
Germany's political future after Merkel remains unclear. The DeutschlandTrend for public broadcaster ARD that was published on Thursday saw little change to German voters' mood.
The governing parties in Germany, CDU/CSU and the SPD, remained unchanged at 29 percent and 17 percent respectively. Voters' support in Germany for the populist AfD was stable at 13 percent, according to the poll by Infratest dimap.
Germany's liberal party FDP loses one point and reached 8 percent in the latest poll by Infratest dimap while the left party won 1 point and reached 9 percent.
Support for Germany's green party was also unchanged at 19 percent in the DeutschlandTrend, making them the second largest political power in Germany. At the moment, a coalition of CDU/CSU and Greens continues to be the only two-party alliance that would find a majority.
