WINDHOEK, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Namibian President Hage Geingob on Thursday encouraged the country's soccer team -- Brave Warriors to win the decisive AFCON qualifier against Zambia on March 23 in Lusaka, adding that Namibian football had "come of age".

"Our football has come of age. Standing on the eve of the third qualification of the Brave Warriors for the AFCON finals is ample demonstration of our footballing achievements over the past 29 years. I am confident about a win in Lusaka on Saturday afternoon. The whole nation is behind the Brave Warriors. They should finish the job that they have started by making it to the finals in Egypt in June 2019," Geingob said.

He appealed to the Brave Warriors to win their final group K qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt in June 2019. With Zambia last in the group and virtually eliminated from the finals, Namibia at second place in the group needs at the very least a draw, or a win by group leaders Guinea-Bissau over Mozambique.
