NAY PYI TAW, March 27 (Xinhua) -- A military parade to mark the 74th Armed Forces Day was held in Myanmar's capital Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

At the parade, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice-Senior Gen. Soe Win stressed that three capabilities, military capability, administrative capability and organizational capability, are needed to make the military more efficient.

He also called for continued efforts in protecting the national policy, promoting peace and stability of the country, solidarity and socio-economic development, carrying out the eternal peace essential to build the union based on the democratic and federal system as well as in building high capable military that enables to protect territorial integrity of the state and safeguard the sovereignty.

A total of 11,438 soldiers paraded on the grounds while jet fighters and helicopters of the air force conducted a fly-by at Wednesday's military parade.
