WASHINGTON, March 28 (Xinhua) - U.S. President Donald Trump's pick for the third highest position at the Department of Justice withdrew herself from consideration on Thursday.
Attorney General William Barr said in a statement that he's appointing Jessie Liu to be the head of the Attorney General's Advisory Committee.
Liu, 46, was tapped earlier this month to be the associate attorney general, a position vacated by Rachel Brand, who resigned last year for a top legal position at U.S. retail giant Walmart.
It is not immediately clear who will fill that role instead.
Liu is currently a U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.
