JAKARTA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's international airport with IATA (International Air Transport Association) code of CGK is ranked in Top 40 World's Best Airport this year, ascending from 45, 44 and 63 ranks in 2018, 2017 and 2016, an Indonesian airport administrator said on Friday.

It was showed in the recently-announced 2019 World Airport Awards compiled by the United Kingdom-based airline and airport reviewer consultant Skytrax.

"This latest rankings has motivated us to further improve our services. We have set a target to ascend to the world's best 30 airports," President Director of Angkasa Pura II, the state-run firm that administers CGK airport, Muhammad Awaludin said in a statement.

To attain the target, Awaludin said that the CGK airport would expand the service of Skytrain inter-terminal transport system, wi-fi connection and baggage handling system for travelers.

CGK, which goes with the official name of Soekarno Hatta airport, has recently launched the Digital Officer with Digital Device (DODD) and InairPort online application to maximize the airport's services, he added.

The mobile InairPort service allows travelers to organize self-check in, view flights schedules and public transports linked to the airport, check the stores serving in the airport premises and make report on lost belongings.

Projects to expand runways and terminals in the airport located in Banten province near Jakarta are underway at present to accommodate more travelers in the airport.

In another Skytrax awards category this year, CGK is ranked among the Top 10 Best Airport Staff in Asia.

The rankings was resulted from Skytrax survey that involved 13 million travelers globally.

Singapore's Changi airport is ranked no.1 in the awards for seven consecutive years.

Hailing CGK's latest achievement, Indonesian Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said that it would pave way for more arrivals of tourists who mostly use flights to visit Indonesia.

"This result has enhanced calibration, confidence and credibility of the Indonesian tourism," the minister said.
