MOSCOW, April 1 (Xinhua) -- A family of peregrine falcons, which lived on the roof of the Russian Foreign Ministry building in downtown Moscow, has returned after repairs were completed on its spire, the ministry said Monday.
After repairs on the upper section of the Stalinist-style skyscraper, engineers built an artificial bird's nest with fine rubble into the spire to create appropriate living conditions for the birds, it said on Facebook.
Ornithologists from the scientific and methodological center Biodiversity are looking after the falcons. They observe the birds remotely, with the laying of eggs and incubating of offspring having begun.
The ministry said it expects an increase in the size of falcons' family in a few weeks.
