VIENNA, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has said that there is no reason at present to grant the UK an extension for its Brexit negotiations despite indications that one may be sought, local media reported on Wednesday.

Speaking after cabinet in light of the ongoing deliberations in London and indications from his counterpart Theresa May that an extension is again on the table, Kurz said the "chaos in Britain has not changed".

He said there is no clear path forward that the British lower house parliament can reach a majority consensus.

In addition, he said he does not know what will happen, but that he wishes May luck, in hoping that she can still find a way to avoid a hard Brexit.

He also appealed on members of the British parliament to think about the massive damage a no-deal outcome could do to both people and businesses.
