NEW DELHI, April 5 (Xinhua) -- At least two labourers were killed and eight others injured Friday after the third floor of an under-construction multi-level car parking building collapsed in southern Indian city of Bengaluru, police said.

The portion of building collapsed early morning at Yeshwanthpur area of Bengaluru, the capital city of Karnataka.

"Early today at 4:00 a.m. (local time) third floor of an under-construction multi-level car parking building collapsed, killing two labourers and injuring eight of them," a police official said. "The injured were rescued and later removed to nearest KC General hospital and Kanva hospital."

According to police, the labourers were working at the time of building collapse.

"The support structure on the third floor meant for the labourers to move around, stand and work collapsed along with the concrete structure," the police official said.

Meanwhile, Karnataka's Director General of fire and emergency services M N Reddi said the rescue operation has been completed.

"There are no more trapped persons. Fire force rescue operations concluded," Reddi said.
