Pakistani PM's secretariat section catches fire, no casualty reported

ISLAMABAD, April 8 (Xinhua) -- A section of the Pakistani Prime Minister's Secretariat caught fire here on Monday afternoon, local media reported.

According to the reports, the fire broke out in a section of the administrative office on the sixth floor of the building located in the high-security zone near the country's parliament.

Firefighters and rescue teams rushed to the site and vacated the building. There is no report of any casualty so far.

An emergency has been declared in the area as the firefighters started to extinguish the fire.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was not present in the building when the fire broke out, the reports said.

The authorities said they will ascertain the cause of the fire once they put out the fire and complete the cooling-down process.
