Viktor Lukashenko appointed acting first vice-president of Belarusian NOC

MINSK, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Viktor Lukashenko, assistant to Belarusian President on national security, will serve as the first vice-president of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus (NOC). The corresponding decision was made on Monday at a meeting of the NOC Executive Committee.

Viktor Lukashenko will replace Andrei Astashevich, the first vice-president of the NOC of Belarus.

The assistant to the Belarusian President will oversee issues of international cooperation and preparation for major sports forums, including the 2nd European Games and the Europe-USA Athletics Match, that Belarus will host in 2019.
